Wild Roots - Lepcha Edition
Learn and live with the forest.
Wild Roots — Lepcha Edition is a guided forest learning experience built around practical outdoor skills, Lepcha knowledge and spending a few days closer to the landscape.
Participants learn and practise essential field skills including campsite selection, working with natural water sources, fire and cooking techniques, useful plants, traditional fishing and adapting to simple outdoor conditions. Local knowledge forms an important part of the experience, alongside guidance from trained outdoor leaders.
The programme is participatory rather than an extreme-survival challenge. Participants should be prepared to learn, work together and adapt to simple outdoor conditions. A typical edition includes time in the forest followed by a return to Dangkyong Adventure Camp, where guided river activities may be included depending on time, river conditions and safety assessment.

Entering the wild

The group prepares food using basic natural materials and settles into the first night outdoors.
Day 2
Living and learning in the jungle

Day 3
Back towards the river
Return towards Dangkyong Adventure Camp after the jungle section. The pace becomes easier again, with time to refresh by the river, unwind and share the experience with the group.
